Missed P.E!

It was a sunny afternoon and I asked our P.E Teacher if we had P.E. He said yes and I replied wait for us then. I asked that because we were in the Library doing Epro8. We were half way in Epro8 until we saw our class doing P.E! We were so annoyed. Lucky we finished a bit earlier so we could go out and play. I was on the team that was fielding. Sweyde hit the ball really far and we chased after it. Sweyde ran to the other end and then we tried to throw the ball at him but missed. He ran back to make a home run. Christale was going to catch the ball to throw it at Sweyde but instead she stared at it! I said Pick up the ball and throw it! She didn't hear and Sweyde got a home run.

Goals

Kia Ora my name is Marta,

Ambassadors Recount.

Ambassadors Writing

I am freaking out! What if I get the lines wrong? I'm so nervous, this is nerv racking. Let’s start from the top shell we?

Today was the day that we had to say a speech about why our school is great. There was 10 principles coming from around New Zealand to come and hear us speak our thoughts about our school. When it was speech time, my friend was up there speaking about sports and how it helps us with our learning. Then she was finished… It was me! I was so nervous. I stood up straight and greeted them with fear. I was talking a bit quieter then what I thought in my expectations. I was talking about the waka hoe that my school has. When that was over we split up into groups and took a principle. We gave them a tour around the school, in other words showed them around and explained what each teacher does. It was an amazing showing them around and explaining what each of our brilliant teachers do.
That was all over and we walked them back to the room we were in. It was time to say goodbye and leave back to class.
It was so fun… but I still wish I could go back to that day so I can speak louder. It was morning tea and the principles left. There was some food in the room we were in and our amazing principal let us come in and eat some. That day I thought we were our principles favorite. We had Milo, Sausage rolls, biscuits and more. That day was really exciting.

What I Said:
Kia Ora. My name is Marta and today I will be talking about the Waka Hoe that my school has.
Our 12 waka hoe remind us of who we want to be.
It helps prepare us for our learning and for future career choices.
Im a very focused and driven person.  I know where
I’m at for my learning and I always work hard to finish tasks.
This relates to ako, tumaia, tikanga even mana and Kaha.

Those two hoe surface when performing kapa haka.  We are proud of our culture.
Another example when we stand on the taumata
and mihi to visitors or to our class and teacher.
Also when we present our work to our class and school. We’re proud here at Tautoro.

You will see Manaakitanga and Aroha throughout our school all the time.
Like this morning when we welcomed you here.
Its our school kaupapa to always welcome guests,
whanau and new students to our kura.
Tuakana always look after teina and show
them the right way to behave out in the playground.

Tumaia, it means to be determined  and build resilience.
In our classroom we are constantly challenged in
reading, writing and maths.  Sometimes they’re so challenging
- we can’t ever give up! Ako -this hoe is about constantly
learning and growing.  Rangatiratanga is about growing leaders.
I love that we always have opportunities to lead by example for our teina.
Like now, we have the opportunity to share our thoughts about our school.
Our waka hoe keeps us safe and it also challenges us to become
the best school in New Zealand. So that is why our school is fantastic.

Introduction of my Narrative.

My Narrative Writing

Here is the Introduction for my story. What do you think of it, and what can I improve on?

Family Trapped!

It was a gloomy night at Sunny shore bay. The Blossom family was a family of four. Two adults and two kids. The Blossom family had bragged about their brand new yacht. They knew that the only way for them to actually show off was to go to the ocean so they did.
They sailed out for five hours straight. The People that saw them sale out five hours ago started to worry about the Blossom family and where the would have gone.
But eventually people stopped worrying about the Blossom’s and decided to go back inside.
Back at the beach were the Blossom family are they were fake laughing but they were enjoying fishing. They enjoyed it so much they forgot to think about the time. It was getting dark so they were about to leave until… Mr Blossom ran his fingers through his revolting orange hair and said with a soft reply “What way do we go?”

We were also assigned to have solutions for the problem in the story so here is mine.

Problem:

  • Getting stuck in the ocean.
Solution:

- Mavis and her rescue team from the bay of shores come and rescue the blossom family.
-Mavis and some of her rescue team was flying around Sunny Shore to see if there was a family that left their camping things on shore.
- The blossoms drives there boat towards somewhere to get signal to contact an emergency place.
- They said a Karakia and A whale came to rescue them. They jump on the whale and the whale takes them back to shore safe and sound.
